Welcome to the Manningtree Benefice
Welcome to the online home of the united benefice of Mistley with Manningtree and Bradfield, Essex, UK. We are two Anglican Churches, situated on the banks of the River Stour, seeking to live out our Christian faith together.
Our service pattern has changed. We are offering more types of services, at new times, in a new monthly pattern. For a day-to-day look at what's going on, have a look at the calendar and there's a monthly service pattern available here. Please feel free to print it out and stick it to your fridge! This is intended to be a six month trial period, but we are doing this to discover how we can change, how we can keep up with our changing times, and how to best serve the people of Mistley, Manningtree and Bradfield.
The website is undergoing some maintenance work but we will do what we can to keep all the information you need, here. Should you not be able to find the information you need, please feel free to either call the church office (01206 392200) or email us.

Dear Friends,
Christ is Risen! Alleluia—Christ is Risen! The Easter acclamation celebrates the great mystery and foundation of the Christian faith. But as always, we must face the cross before resurrection.
Holy Week this year includes again an agapé meal on Maundy Thursday. On Good Friday we will worship with the churches in our community and then either return to St Lawrence for a time of quiet reflection or gather at the foot of the Cross at St Mary and St Michael. Easter Sunday celebrations begin with the Sunrise Service on Bradfield beach and continue through our morning and evening services. And finally, at Pentecost we celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit. As we worship together seeking to encounter the crucified and risen Christ, let us continually pray the ancient prayer of the Church; ‘Come, Lord Jesus’.
