The Manningtree Benefice has lots to offer those who want to get involved.  Here's a flavour:

SUNDAY SERVICES

Regular Sunday morning service times:

9:15am St. Lawrence Church

            The Street, Bradfield

11am    St. Mary’s & St. Michael’s Church

            New Road, Mistley

Worship is traditional Anglican in flavour.    Services of Holy Communion take place on the second and fourth Sundays of the month.

See the Calendar for full details.

FELLOWSHIP

Groups meet regularly in Mistley, Manningtree or Bradfield for fellowship, worship, and study.

COMMUNITY MEALS

Simple evening meals held in Church roughly every two months.  The aim is to foster a greater sense of community among the body of Christ in the benefice.

THE FRIENDS

Both churches have active FRIENDS groups whose main objectives are to help in restoring and improving the fabric of the buildings, preserving them as places of Christian worship.  They do this by organising lots of fun activities.

RENOVARE GROUPS

Renovaré (Latin meaning ‘to renew’) groups meet together to bring challenge and focus to their spiritual lives.  Group members are committed to the Renovaré covenant: “In utter dependence upon Jesus Christ as my ever-living Saviour, Teacher, Lord, and Friend I will seek continual renewal through spiritual exercises, spiritual gifts, and acts of service.”

Renovaré seeks to examine and practise the treasures of the classic spiritual disciplines of the church.  The result is a balanced vision for spiritual renewal.

SUNDAY SCHOOL

For children from 4 years. Meet weekly in both churches at morning service times (except the first Sunday in the month).  Small but lively!

BUGGY CLUB

For pre-school children.  Meets weekly in Mistley Church at 1:30pm every Thursday.  Fun, songs, Bible stories, activities, tea, coffee and juice.  Come and make friends.

JULIAN PRAYER GROUP

An ecumenical group for silent, Christian contemplative prayer which meets in Mistley Church 10am 1st Saturday each month.

PARTNERS IN MISSION GROUP

A united benefice group which encourages our link with A Rocha UK  (Christians in Conservation) through the Church Mission Society (CMS).

THE ALPHA COURSE

This course is run on an occasional basis and is designed to give people a chance to get to grips with the basic issues of the Christian faith – in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

THE MARRIAGE COURSE

How to build a healthy marriage that lasts a lifetime. The Marriage Course is very practical, giving any couple the tools to build a strong and healthy marriage that lasts a lifetime.  Over seven evenings spent together couples talk about important issues that can get swept under the carpet in the rush of daily life.
