Messy Church
Messy Church

We don’t believe in just occupying or baby sitting the children who come to us. We believe in teaching them and equipping them, treating them as the intelligent and imaginative people that they are!

Treasure Seekers

Treasure Seekers (formerly known as Sunday School/Gang) takes place during the 10.30am Family-style services. In both churches, the teaching rooms are within the church building, and children start with their parents and leave during the service for their lesson. See the calendar for specific times and dates.

Buggy Club

Buggy Club meets every Wednesday at Bradfield Church and every Thursday at Mistley Church. From 1:30 to 2:30, babies and pre-school children, with their parents, grandparents or carers, meet together to sing songs, listen to a Bible story, make something to take home, and play together in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. If you’re on facebook, please do like our page for more information and opportunities to share!

Open the Book

We have a team, including members of our church, and those from Bradfield Methodist Church, who take the Bible into our local schools, using drama to tell them the stories. We go in about six times a term, act for them, and sing with them. We love doing it, and would always love for more people to join the team!

Messy Church

Messy Church explores the Bible through creativity, celebration, eating together and an all-age context, involving the whole family. It is an attempt to be church for families who might want an experience of church, but for whom Sunday services are not quite right.

The next Messy Church will be held on Wednesday 30 November, 4.30-6.30 at Mistley Norman School. There will be crafts, games and activities, a celebration time of songs and story, and then a meal for everyone.

All children must be accompanied by an adult. Parents arriving home from work who might not be in time for the whole thing are welcome to come and join in late. We are asking for a donation of £2 per child aged three and older or £5 per family. Accompanying adults can come free.

Everyone is welcome, and we hope to see you there! Contact us for more information, and check out the official Messy Church website.

Peninsular Youth Ministry

We support the work of Peninsular Youth Ministry, an interdenominational trust set up to undertake Christian youth work for the north Tendring area of Essex, taking the Gospel to the young people in the senior schools in Harwich and Manningtree, helping churches develop their youth work, and running Christian youth activities. See the Peninsular Youth Ministries facebook page for more details.
